Reliable Raincoat Manufacturing Process – Inside Powinsun Factory
At Powinsun, our raincoat manufacturing process follows strict standardized procedures.
As an experienced OEM/ODM rainwear manufacturer since 2015, we understand that for overseas wholesalers and brand buyers, “quality consistency” and “delivery reliability” matter far more than low price alone.
Today, we open a window into our production and quality control process, so you can see exactly how a “Powinsun-made” raincoat is born – from raw materials to finished goods ready for shipping.

Step1. Raw Material Selection – Certified Materials Only
The first step of our raincoat manufacturing process is raw material selection. Our warehouse maintains stock of multiple fabrics including EVA, PVC, and PU-coated polyester.
All incoming materials must pass three inspections:
-
Tensile strength tests – to ensure the fabric does not tear easily under stress
-
Environmental compliance checks – meeting REACH standards for safe export to Europe and North America
-
Thickness uniformity inspections – to avoid weak spots that could leak
We never use recycled or substandard additives. This commitment to quality materials directly extends the lifespan of every raincoat we produce.
Step2. Precision Cutting & Heat-Sealed Seam Sealing
We use fully automatic multi-layer cutting machines from a trusted brand. This equipment ensures:
-
Precise edge control with minimal size tolerance (within 2mm)
-
Reduced material waste – which helps us offer competitive pricing
-
Consistent cutting across large batch orders
At the critical sewing stage, all seams undergo heat-sealing tape lamination.
Our technicians operate industrial-grade hot air seam sealing machines. Each needle hole and fabric joint is covered with high-adhesion waterproof tape.
This is the core guarantee of true “100% waterproof” performance – and it is also the step where low-cost manufacturers often cut corners. We do not.

Step3. Rigorous Finished Product QC (Quality Control)
Before leaving the factory, each batch of raincoats must pass three mandatory tests:
1. Water Spray Test
-
What We Simulate: Moderate to heavy rain with continuous spraying for 12 minutes
-
Passing Standard: No water penetration through any seam or zipper
2. Tensile & Tear Resistance Test
-
What We Check: High-stress areas like cuffs, hoods, and shoulder seams
-
Passing Standard: No tearing or seam separation under specified pressure
3. Appearance & Function Check
-
What We Check: Zipper smoothness, reflective tape placement, Velcro adhesion, stitching quality
-
Passing Standard: All functions operate correctly; no visual defects
Only batches that pass all three tests are approved for packaging. Our QC team documents each test result for traceability.
Step4. Stable Production Capacity & On-Time Delivery

The final stage of our raincoat manufacturing process focuses on stable production and reliable delivery. Our standardized workshop achieves a daily output of 1,000 units.
Typical lead times for bulk orders:
-
Regular orders (no customization): 7–10 days
-
Custom OEM/ODM orders (including sample approval): 15–25 days
We use an ERP system to manage orders, materials, and production scheduling. This system alerts our team to any potential delays before they happen. As a result, over 98% of our orders are loaded and shipped on schedule – a track record we are proud to share with our clients.
Choosing Powinsun means more than just receiving a raincoat. You gain a reliable, traceable supply chain partner that communicates clearly and delivers as promised.
